But instead of doing that , why not trying it yourself . It is super easy and doesn&#8217;t take that long , and plus , it&#8217;s healthier since it doesn&#8217;t have MSG like most chinese restaurant does their food . So here it goes ..Picture doesn&#8217;t look as good because my regular camera for some reason isn&#8217;t working \ud83d\ude41<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oliviaskitchen.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/sesame-chicken.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1200\" title=\"sesame chicken\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oliviaskitchen.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/sesame-chicken-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.oliviaskitchen.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/sesame-chicken-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.oliviaskitchen.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/sesame-chicken.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For the batter :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/4 cup all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup cornstarch<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon baking soda<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon baking powder<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons white wine<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup water<\/li>\n<li>2 teaspoons vegetable oil<\/li>\n<li>2 dashes sesame oil<\/li>\n<li>\u00a01.5 lbs of boneless chicken thighs , you can replace it with chicken breasts too if you want . I prefer dark meat<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For the sauce<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup chicken broth<\/li>\n<li>1 cup white sugar<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons dark soy sauce<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons sesame oil<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon chile paste<\/li>\n<li>1 clove garlic, minced<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup cornstarch<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mix the batter ingredients together with whisk , cut your chicken into bite size , marinade for 1 hour or so in the fridge . Then deep fry for about 3-4 minutes . Set aside .<\/p>\n<p>Bring the mixture for the sauce to boil , and then add the cornstarch mixed with water . Or you can skip this , and add the chicken into the sauce .. and it should thicken the sauce because of the chicken batter has flour and cornstarch .
